Juvederm vs. Restylane Injections

Both JUVEDERM­® Injectible Gel and Restylane are facial fillers for areas of the face, and both are made of hyaluronic acid which is a naturally occurring substance in the body. Both are used for deeper lines called nasolabial folds of the face.

While there aren’t major differences between the two most would doctors now prefer Restylane around the upper cheeks and lower lids because it is associated with less swelling. Most would use Juvederm and JUVEDERM­® Injectible Gel Ultra Plus in lip augmentation but would use either product along the margins of the lip. Also, if needed for more volume, Restlyane comes in a larger syringe size (1cc), whereas JUVEDERM­® Injectible Gel and Ultra Plus come in a 0.8cc syringe.
